Hot Foiled Labels

Hot foiling is a pressure technique used to create a decorative, metallic finish to a label design. It literally is a metallic foil which is heated up and transferred onto any label material to add a luxurious finish to part of a label design.

At Labelnet we offer a range of label embellishments which includes hot foiling amongst other decorative finishes to transform any label design.

Who uses hot foil on their labels?

Hot foil label printing is often used to make part of the text stand out or to create a decorative feature across a label to make it look more attractive and add value to a product. Brands who are reaching out to an audience who desire a luxury product will find that adding metallic foils to their labels will attract attention and create a more eye catching finish to their label designs.

For businesses wanting to attract an audience who are looking for ‘high end’ products, hot foiling a label will ooze sophistication and class. A label is a customers first impression and adding metallic foil simply wows a consumer.

How does hot foiling actually work?

Hot foil label printing is a premium process which uses a combination of heat and pressure to create a luxurious metallic label. An engraved metal die (plate) is used with your chosen design, heated up and forced firmly against the label material, resulting in the design of the die being transferred onto the material. Our hot foil printed labels come in a wide variety of gold, silver and copper colours; and matt or gloss pigments, so you have various options to decide what type of hot foil labels works best with your design and brand. With a huge rainbow of metallic colours, hot foiling will cater for any product.

To provide maximum protection to the foiled labels, some people opt for lamination finishes to provide a clear film which prevents abrasion to the labels when in transit. We recommend adding this to your hot foil printed labels to ensure they look flawless on the shelf.
